New theme: AI literacy

Now that AI has become an integral part of professional life and the EU AI Act imposes obligations regarding AI literacy, the subject is high on the agenda. Many organisations today feel the pressure to keep up and comply with the law. At the same time, the topic raises many questions. What skills do employees really need? What are the legal obligations? And how do you, as an organisation, demonstrate that you have made sufficient efforts in the area of AI literacy?

What information can you find?

The Knowledge Centre Data & Society is therefore making AI literacy a central theme in its work, with concrete support for organisations. We are launching a series of publications and tools to help organisations get started with this theme in a focused and informed way.

Publications and tools

Today, you can already find the following on our website:

  • An info sheet  - A brief overview of the legal requirements under the EU AI Act
  • A guide (in Dutch) - seven practical steps to integrate AI literacy in a sustainable way into your organisation
  • An in-depth report (in Dutch) - a comprehensive overview of definitions, frameworks and measuring instruments from the academic literature on AI literacy

What else can you expect?

In 2026, we will further develop this theme with new tools and research. Among other things, we plan to develop guidelines for organisations in co-creation to demonstrate their efforts. In addition, we will investigate how AI literacy relates to AI maturity and how both concepts can be measured in practice.
