brAInfood - AI literacy: From obligation to strategic advantage

Artificial intelligence (AI) has quickly become part of everyday working life. From writing texts and summarising meetings to processing information, AI is proving to be a useful assistant for an increasing number of employees.

Flemish companies are also rapidly adopting AI: by 2025, 58.8 per cent of Flemish companies were using AI, according to figures from the AI Barometer. At the same time, many Flemish companies indicate that they're still struggling with a lack of knowledge about AI and with questions about how to deploy the technology safely, practically and in accordance with the applicable regulations.

This is where AI literacy comes into the picture. For Flemish companies and SMEs, it is becoming increasingly important to equip employees with the right skills to use AI safely, effectively and responsibly.

In this brAInfood, you'll discover, through three different perspectives, which competencies play a role in developing AI literacy. We also provide a concrete example of how your company can get started with AI literacy based on these perspectives.
