The Chinese government published ambitious rules that should regulate internet services based on algorithmic recommendations. Among other things, companies must explain how the algorithms work and what their purpose is, offer users an 'opt-out' possibility and ensure that their algorithms are not 'addictive'. The distribution and creation of fake news will also be prohibited.
