IEEE – Standard Model Process for Addressing Ethical Concerns during System Design

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the IEEE Standards Association have developed a new standard to address ethical issues during the design of AI and other tech systems. The IEEE 7000™-2021 is the first standard in the world to show tech companies in a practical way how to build technology that can generate human and social value.

With this, IEEE hopes to have developed a new milestone, similar to the ISO-9000 standard, for example. On the one hand, IEEE is very authoritative as the world's largest technical trade association, but it is also one of the few institutions that publishes globally valid standards and norms. Consider, for example, the standard for Wi-Fi networks.
