In an era where artificial intelligence (AI) increasingly shapes our world, transparency and trust in AI systems are increasingly important. Transparency is also one of the foundations of the AI Act of the European Union. Our recent policy prototyping project delved into the legislation and examined and tested the transparency requirements to provide valuable insights for both policymakers and professionals.
The EU AI Act contains two types of transparency requirements:
- Instructions For Use (IFUs) for high-risk AI systems, as stipulated in article 13 AI Act.
- Disclosure requirements for interactive AI and AI-generated content, as outlined in article 52 AI Act.
Our report is a comprehensive exploration of these requirements, providing a practical view of their implementation and implications.
