We will not let this milestone pas unnoticed: be sure to mark 28 January 2025 in your calendar for our celebration. On that day, we will reflect on our accomplishments over the last five years and look ahead to what the future holds. You will be introduced to what the Knowledge Center Data & Society has to offer in a variety of ways.

The AI Act: Practical tools and methods to implement the AI Act (EN)
- As the AI Act is gradually being implemented, questions arise about the practical implementation. Are companies equipped with the right tools, or are their resources falling short? How close or far away are organisations from achieving AI compliance? The focus here lies on the practicalities of implementation within organisations.
Data and AI in the workplace: A win-win for all stakeholders? (NL)
- AI and data-driven applications offer tremendous opportunities for workplaces. Yet, the actual innovation process often encounters significant challenges, with many initiatives ultimately failing. What causes these setbacks? What role does employee engagement play in this dynamic, and how can we improve the success rate of AI-driven innovation?

- This session will take the recent policy brief on the supervision of the AI Act by the Knowledge Centre as a starting point. We invite stakeholders to join the discussion and express their view on how such supervision should be organized.
Flemish citizens and AI: Should everyone embrace AI? (NL)
- A significant number of Flemish citizens either do not know what AI is or claim to never use it. Yet, AI systems directly or indirectly impact everyone, and AI tools can create substantial value, even on a personal level. Should every Flemish citizen be included in the AI narrative, and if so, how do we best achieve this?

Panel on the Flemish AI policy plan: What is the AI Flanders program now and in five years? (NL)
The AI Flanders program has been running for five years. What have we achieved as a small region, and where do we aim to go in the next five years? This session takes a broader view of the program to project ahead to 2030 and explore what will have been reached by then.
AI playbooks: What do we need and what is already in place? An overview of methods for embedding AI innovation in an organisation. (EN)
Artificial intelligence is hailed as a groundbreaking innovation that it demands a new organisational approach. In this panel, we will ask whether this is truly the case and examine the practices required to innovate responsibly with AI in an organisational context.
