How can a Learning Community on AI and ethics in practice help you?
01.12.2022
Are you aware of the ethical challenges involved in new technology, but not sure how to incorporate these concerns into concrete AI projects? You are not alone. The Knowledge Centre Data & Society is therefore launching a Learning Community for professionals to exchange experiences on how to turn ethical concerns in innovation into concrete actions.
3 ambitions of the Learning Community
Many organisations are aware of the ethical and legal difficulties involved in data-driven innovations. Unfortunately, there is no single way to develop responsible innovations. Therefore, this Learning Community shares various (practical) experiences and knowledge on how ethical, legal and societal challenges are addressed by its members.
In a safe environment, with a focus on inspiring, informing and stimulating, relevant tools and methodologies to address these challenges are shared. The aim is to share practical experiences with tools and methodologies, what they bring to the organisation and how they can be useful for other members of the Learning Community.
By sharing experiences with each other and forming a Learning Community, the professional activity of profiles such as ethics officers, digital ethicists, AI ethics officers, etc. will be further professionalised and unified.
So if you are looking for inspiration and practical experiences on how to operationalise ethics in innovation projects or in your organisation, this Learning Community is something for you. Get inspired, or share your own approach with the other members of the Learning Community.
Launch Learning Community
We are launching the Learning Community on 14 December in De Krook (Ghent). Meeting each other and exchanging experiences is central that day! But also how we, and future members, see the objectives of the Learning Community. We will also collect suggestions on what you expect from the Learning Community, and what you could contribute to it.
We will kick off the day with a keynote by Douwe Schmidt, project manager Public Tech at the Municipality of Amsterdam. We will also offer an open stage for those who would like to share with the audience an interesting approach around the operationalisation of ethics (e.g. the development of a maturity tool, the set-up of an ethical advisory board).
After this hopefully inspiring afternoon, we will enjoy some snacks and drinks during an ethics networking reception. For more info and registration (before 9/12) click here. Please note, the language of the event is English.
