brAInfood: How ecologically sustainable is GenAI?

The ecological sustainability of generative AI (GenAI) is a topic of growing debate. How much energy and water does GenAI consume, and what impact does this have on our communities? How does the geopolitical race for GenAI leadership shape its environmental footprint? In this brAInfood, we explore the current state of GenAI’s ecological sustainability and its broader implications.

This brAInfood is a collaboration between the Knowledge Centre Data & Society and Alexandra Papageorgiou, researcher at the KU Leuven Centre for IT and IP law (CiTiP).
