Lecture: The use of personal data in AI research

Content

The speakers will introduce the basic notions and concepts of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in an AI-context and supplement them with some useful tips and tricks. Questions that will be addressed are: when is data 'personal'? When should you conduct a DPIA regarding AI systems? Why do some organisations have a DPO and when should you contact your DPO? Furthermore, and depending upon the targeted audience, they will also briefly discuss the Ethical Guidelines for Trustworthy AI and the seven key requirements. The development, deployment, and use of AI systems should meet these requirements in order to be considered Trustworthy AI, privacy and data governance being one of them.
