SDoC for AI/ AI service FactSheets

The authors of this article state that suppliers of AI application must create a fact sheet for each product, demonstrating that the application is 'compliant' (an SDoC or 'supplier's declarations of conformity'), just like that for other products happens. This SDoC or "fact sheet" informs the user of, for example, the following aspects of the AI application:

  • The target
  • The performance
  • The test method
  • The safety

The authors of this article conducted their research while working for IBM Research.

What you should know before reading further:

  • Target group: developers, project managers, data managers
  • Process phase: implementation, evaluation and iteration
  • System component: data usage and processing, AI application, security, model reliability
  • Price indication: freely available

Method

There is no template or example of the SDoC as envisioned by the authors. However, the appendix of the article does contain a number of questions that the authors consider important and can serve as a first guide for setting up an SDoC.
