brAInfood series goes international

13.07.2022

Since our launch, the Knowledge Centre Data & Society has published a monthly brAInfood, which is a short (visual) publication with which we hope to excite our readers on a topic related to data-driven systems and artificial intelligence (AI). The brAInfood series informs a broad audience on various topics, but always focuses on a social, legal or ethical aspect related to data and AI.

Do you have a theme or a question about AI or data? And is there a link with ethical, social and legal aspects? Contact us at info@data-en-maatschappij.ai and we will discuss with you if we can develop a brAInfood on this topic.

Why a brAInfood series?

Artificial intelligence, data driven applications, but also legal and ethical frameworks often look mysterious and complex. So anyone who wants to create sustainable and ethical innovations must always first understand what is going on. And the latter is what the brAInfoods are doing.

In 2020, for example, we published brAInfoods on the following topics: trustworthiness, legal sandboxing, liability and self-driving cars, ethical technology and explainability. The year after, in 2021, we covered brAInfoods on transparent AI, deepfakes, ANPR, data protection and chatbots and algorithmic news selection. In 2022, we already published brAInfoods on the topic of digital inclusion, legal restrictions and data, prohibited AI systems and cookies, among others.

CLAIRE

The brAInfood series is translated by CLAIRE, the Confederation of Laboratories for Artificial Intelligence Research in Europe, to French, German, Czech and Italian (see this webpage for an overview). It was founded by the European AI community and aims to strengthen European excellence in AI research and innovation, with a strong emphasis on human-centred AI. CLAIRE is the largest AI network worldwide focused on research and innovation.

We will continue to work closely with CLAIRE to reach a wider audience and inform more people about data and AI-related topics. In this way we will increase the visibility of the Knowledge Centre Data & Society in Europe.
